The Wildwink Code

Mandatory Briefing & Agreement

Before joining an expedition, every trekker must agree to the following principles. Out here, discipline and respect are just as important as physical endurance.

1. Leave No Trace, Zero Exceptions

Pack out exactly what you pack in. No wrappers, no bottles, no biodegradable waste left behind. The mountains are not a landfill, and we aim to leave the trails cleaner than we found them.

2. Respect the Culture and the Land

We are guests in the remote villages and sacred valleys of the Himalayas. Always respect local customs, dress modestly in village areas, and ask for permission before photographing residents or their homes.

3. Preserve the Solitude

We come to the mountains to unplug and find mental clarity. Leave the portable speakers and loud ringtones at home. Keep voices low on the trail to respect the local wildlife and the experience of other trekkers.

4. Stay on the Path

Do not cut switchbacks or forge your own shortcuts. The alpine ecosystems we trek through are fragile. Going off-trail causes severe soil erosion and destroys plant life.

5. Respect the Fire

Never start an unapproved campfire. If we do build a fire for survival or cooking, it will be managed exclusively by the expedition leader to prevent forest fires and habitat damage.

6. Bring the Right Mindset

Authentic trekking requires discipline. Complaining about the lack of commercial comforts, cellular service, or the physical toll of the trail compromises the group's morale. Come mentally prepared to carry your own weight and embrace the raw experience of the Himalayas.

7. Wildlife is Wild

Do not feed, approach, or provoke any animals we encounter. Keep a safe distance and observe quietly.
